Whimsical Winter Wedding

It’s been awhile since we’ve posted on our blog for you but we are back with an amazing winter wedding! This whimsical winter wedding is sure to take your breath away.

Grace & Ben were married here at the Castle December 9th on a beautiful, snowy afternoon. This day was magical from start to finish. Grace & her bridesmaids arrived at the Castle just as the snow began to fall. As the ladies had their hair and make up done in the bridal suite, a blanket of white covered the ground outside just in time for their first look. Words can’t even describe how picture perfect this first look was. Large snowflakes were falling silently and ever so slowly, just like in the movies. As Ben turned around to see his bride, tears of happieness and an immense smile greeted him as he reached out to hug her. All the bridesmaids watched from inside the castle as they whispered how perfect and magical this moment truly was.

James Park of 2be Photography lead the bridal party through the snow for formal photos. Though a bit chilly at the time, I think everyone agrees the outcome was well worth it! Having six fireplaces comes in handy on days like this. As guests arrived from near and far, they entered through the iron gates into our grand ballroom ceremony space. Our three story, stone fireplace was the ideal backdrop for this cold December night. Promptly after the couple was presented as Mr. & Mrs. Carlson, the party began and did not stop until the clock struck 11.

One little thing I haven’t mentioned yet is that the newlyweds are expecting a baby in the Spring. Grace & Ben decided to do their gender reveal in front of all of their closest friends and family that night. How you ask? By having their wedding cake dyed the color of the gender. Just when you thought this wedding couldn’t get any better, right?! We were all surprised (including Grace & Ben) when the first slice revealed a blue piece of cake!

Take a look for yourself at these stunning photos of this very special day.
